Deep ruby purple color; concentrated, complex aromas of black plum, spice and pine needle notes of the nose; big, deep and full of flavors, lots of black plum, smoky bacon and spice with moderate tannin and sweet oak; great structure and balance; long finish. This is a deep, complex and really well balanced wine from Greg Piatigorski, a San Francisco Bay area Pinot lover turned vintner making small lots of Pinot Noir and Syrah. If these two Alcina Pinots are any indication, there's no doubt in my mind that you'll be hearing more and more about him in the future.

WOW. I love old world Syrah. It took over 2 hours for this wine to open and show it's real merit, a little funky at first it opens up to show an amazing complexity of fruit and terrior`. A very rich wine it has all the makings of a superstar but you will have to wait 10-15 years for that day."-GV

Once again when tasting this wine I was unable to grasp the complexity and richness of this wine. This "loaded" Pinot Noir is amazing, explosive and most of all smooth. Pinot Noir has become the hot category and after tasting this gem I understand why. If you are buying Pinot's in this price range jump on a case of this wine. A real winner!"-GV
